We are in the crossroad of democracy.

What we have seen in the people's movement initiated by Anna Hajare and his colleagues is people's resentment against the ruling communities. The ruled are deeply frustrated with the ruling class. And this is happening across the globe in different forms. The govt. should understand what is written on the wall. Unless the people's grievances addressed well and addressed in time then the movement may withal but will not die out. Rather it may find another outlet which may not be healthy for the democracy. Now the M.Ps are claiming their suzerainty but what if they fail to introduce or enact any rules which will fulfill the hope and aspiration of the common people. Then people have to demand for the same. There is nothing wrong in it. Ultimately it depends on the good sense of the parliamentarians whether they are ready to concede to the people's demand or push the country to a state of anarchy. Now it seems that most of the parliamentarians started visualizing their relationship with the electors as that of Lords to their vassals. Some of them are behaving as the agents of the corporate houses. It is the capitalism and its paraphernalia which is responsible for all sorts of degradation. Now time has come to think out of the box. Whenever any new opinions grows there grows counter opinions. Michel Madhusudan Datta wrote 'Meghanadbad' which is contrary to the idea we find in the Ramayana but that does not nullify the importance of the Ramayana.
